I am well trained in the technical side of cloth construction (Dobby and Jacquard design). I have a good understanding of all problems and processes in the manufacturing – as well as costing and quality control.
As a designer I conceptualize, visualize and formulate ranges (as well as the end product and how it fits in as a whole).
I have dealt with wholesalers, retailers and furniture manufacturers (and the so called in house designers / buyers who select ranges for each establishment and various markets).
I have experience in dealing with CMT companies.
I have mastered Jacquard programme – Scotweave for Windows and Dobby programme -CIS (powered by Silicon Graphics).
I would like to emphasize my strong marketing, communication and negotiating skills.
I have traveled overseas extensively and am well presented.
I am a highly conceptual person and very analytical.
I have strong decorating abilities and interpreting customers’ “handwriting” and briefs.
I have a natural intuition for trend spotting as well as accuracy in forecasting and making projections – both in the clothing and interior sectors (my fashion pulse is switched spot-on).
My strength of character delivers fresh seasons with vigour and excitement.
My market knowledge is strong and I am a leader who manage and motivate.
I believe that I can be beneficial in many organizations / companies / establishments – due to my in depth knowledge regarding cloth making, production, developing of ranges, design from fibre to fabric, and also good understanding of the marketplace as a whole.
I am also an artist and express myself in the medium of painting.
I have a strong interest in photography and a zeal for styling.
“My passion is to be concise and truthful in projecting my vision, and therefore maintaining my own unique standard in everything.
I am satisfied when I know I did the utmost with materials available – to fulfill specific purpose / criteria / brief / market or budget – to give the best possible value for money in quality and Style.
As a designer it is my responsibility to educate and make the client aware of value, quality and timeless Design.”
From Fibre to Fabric
I visualize and conceptualize – in detail – the appearance / character and handle of the final product (cloth) in mind – i.e. quality, weight, composition, weave construction and design (choice of yarns whether fancy or plain – in relation thereof to be cost effective).
I create and use the best weave construction in particular related areas to suit the optimal design needs – i.e. to show colours effectively / for strength in designated related areas (to give utmost quality as well as to best express my creative flair).
